Welcome.
At Healing Hooves, our horses help participants reconnect with themselves, with others, and with the world around us through grounded Equine-Assisted Learning + Therapeutic Activities. Together we explore connected presence, somatic memory, and personal development; one neuro-regulating nuzzle at a time.
There is no pressure to “perform” or share. The focus is always on curiosity, choice and building healthy relationships through authentic connection.
No prior horse experience necessary. Just come as you are, our horses will meet you there.
Healing Hooves is horse-led. Our sessions are shaped by the nature, needs + boundaries of the horses themselves, and how you relate with them.
This may be a good fit for you if:
• You’re drawn to horses + wish to build a personal bond beyond traditional riding lessons
• You feel overwhelmed, shut down, or disconnected from your own needs
• You’re navigating a personal life transition: health, career, family, etc.
• You’re living with the impacts of trauma, grief, chronic stress
• You’re a caregiver or support person needing to rediscover/reconnect with oneself
• You’re considering purchasing or leasing a horse of your own, and wish to gain insight into the realities of respectful, horse-led horsemanship, finances + care
This is not:
• Clinical Therapy
• Crisis Intervention / Emergency Support
• Conventional Horseback Riding Lessons

Apple Jack
15.2 hh, 17 year old, Paint Gelding
AJ offers a calm, steady and grounding presence. A seasoned former show horse, he brings emotional consistency, patience and quiet reassurance to each interaction. Sessions with Apple Jack may explore safety, trust, emotional regulation and rest - and are best suited for participants seeking emotional / physical / mental clarity, nervous system grounding, and gentle reconnection to oneself, others, and the world we share. AJ teaches us the art of pausing, granting us the opportunity for thoughtful response rather than immediate reaction.

Yukon
17.3 hh, 9 year old, Percheron Gelding
Yukon offers a curious, expressive, and relational presence. A former carriage horse, this young draft breed is still developing his own finesse. He effortlessly commands presence with bold curiosity, physical affection, and embodied learning process in each interaction. Sessions with Yukon may explore communication, boundaries, and shared awareness - and are best suited for participants hoping to develop self-assurance, physical exercise, and leadership skills. Yukon teaches us the art of assertion without aggression.
“A growing body of evidence suggests that the unique human-horse connection improves the physical and mental health of both species.”
